Wroxton House Hotel, 4 Silver St, Wroxton, Banbury OX15 6QB

Brimming with character, Wroxton is a charming village known for the 18th-century honey-coloured thatched cottages that line its idyllic streets. Beyond its postcard-worthy appeal, the village is also home to Wroxton Abbey: a grand countryside manor that dates back to the 17th century, now existing as a university campus.

Nearby, you’ll find the historic town of Banbury - nestled on the picturesque banks of the River Cherwell - and Shakespeare’s hometown, Stratford-upon-Avon, where plenty of attractions await, such as the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, and Shakespeare’s birthplace itself. And, if you fancy venturing a bit further afield, the intellectually-prestigious city of Oxford is just under an hour’s drive away.
