In 2010 there was a worldwide market shift towards the daily deal and group buying model.

This model requires a minimum amount of consumers to commit to buying a deal before the deal is ''on'' and subsequently activating a deeply discounted offer on goods and services - usually with a minimum 50% off the RRP.

A number of international competitors emerged in the market backed with large marketing budgets. We recognised a need for a group buying model in Ireland, provided by an established Irish company. As the Irish online destination for deals and value for over a decade, Pigsback.com was perfect placed to provide this service. MegaDeals was born. 

MegaDeals  was launched to our existing database of 310,000 active users in August 2010. Our users responded incredibly well to this new product and word of our new product soon spread across Twitter and Facebook and was communicated by us with a schedule of email marketing.

To distinguish our product and brand from our competitors we developed a 5 Point promise:

1. Within 7 days, you can get a FULL refund to your Credit Card, Laser or PayPal.

Up to one year you can claim a refund in PiggyPoints which can be spent against another MegaDeal or in our Rewards catalogue.

2. Use yourPiggyPoints to buy MegaDeals  on a 1 PiggyPoint =1 cent basis.
Example: A €10 MegaDeal voucher can be paid for with 1000 PiggyPoints.

3. Members earn 50 PiggyPoints for every  MegaDeal  you purchase.

4. MegaDeals  are available on the go from your iPhone, iPad or smartphone on m.pigsback.com

5. Pigsback.com was born in Ireland in 2000 and now directly employs 35 people from our Dublin base. We are a Guaranteed Irish company. 100% of your spend stays here in the Irish economy. 


MegaDeals  has been a fantastic addition to the Pigsback.com family and has exceeded all expectations.

We conducted some research recently and through this we discovered that 72% of Pigsback MegaDeal buyers are women and 250 of these joined us way back in July 2000 which clearly indicates the loyalty of our members.
